On Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, WBUR highlighted Roxbury’s very own International Film Festival (RoxFilm) along with its upcoming 25th anniversary. WBUR notes that the RoxFilm Festival holistically supports local filmmakers and visual artists, specifically those seeking creative expansion beyond the short film medium. Writer-director John Oluwole ADEkoje, a two-time winner of the RoxFilm Emerging Filmmaker Award, explained that RoxFilm gets him one step closer to making his work “as beautiful and powerful as possible.”
