On Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, The Baystate Banner shared that the RoxFilm Festival, “the largest Black film festival in New England,” will return to Hibernian Hall for its 25th year. Programming for the in-person screenings begins on June 20th and will run until June 28th, with screenings occurring at various arts and culture spots across Boston (Museum of Fine Arts, Northeastern University, and MPDC’s very own Hibernian Hall). Remote festivities continue until July 2nd in collaboration with ArtsEmerson, Emerson College’s virtual platform for presenting creative works ranging from theatre to film. Additionally, a collection of Boston-based short films that spotlight Roxbury and Mattapan will exclusively premiere at Hibernian.
