In the Mohawk Group Designer Curated Blog: Designing The Dewitt Center – A Place to Celebrate Community
The Dewitt Center is a focal point of Madison Park, a community in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The Center is a place for people of all ages to connect, play, learn, celebrate and strengthen their community. Silverman Trykowski Associates was invited to design the interiors of the new Dewitt Center, designed by Stull and Lee Architects.

Lavell Fulks, a lifelong city resident who works for the city’s neighborhood trauma teams, said city officials need to do more to help black and Hispanic young men and disadvantaged communities.
“It’s about how we teach people to see each other, it’s about how we teach people to believe in each other,” he said. “Trauma has created this wound where they can just continue to live off of hate, off of despair, live off hopelessness.”
