In WBUR’s ‘The Artery’: New Toni Morrison Documentary Opens Roxbury International Film Festival With Gravity And Grace
“Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am” opens the 21st annual Roxbury International Film Festival on Thursday, June 20. (The event takes place at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Other festival venues include Hibernian Hall, Haley House Bakery Café, Berklee College of Music, and the Bruce C. Bolling Building.)

In Sampan: Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment releases new report exploring potential power of youth credit building
Recognizing the consequential impacts credit can have on the lives of young adults, the Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) in partnership with Citi Community Development and Working Credit NFP, today released a new report from the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University that outlines recommendations for creating multi-faceted programs that help individuals establish good credit at an early age, in order to gain control of personal finances and establish economic mobility.

In The Bay State Banner: Details on the 4 development teams selected
Madison Park Development Corporation was the sole bidder for the site, a parcel at the corner of Dudley Street and Shawmut Avenue. The Dudley Square-based CDC plans to combine this site with the adjacent parcel at 2451 Washington St. — which the organization is also redeveloping — creating a total of 33 units, with 24 affordable to low and moderate income and nine unrestricted at market rates.

In The Bay State Banner: Developers selected for Dudley Square parcels
Four Boston-based development teams have been designated by the Roxbury Strategic Master Plan Oversight Committee to design and build on the first batch of sites in Dudley Square as part of the PLAN: Dudley redevelopment process. At a community meeting Monday night, the project review committee for the four parcels presented its recommendations to the RSMPOC, having chosen four proposals that would add 265 units of housing to the area, along with commercial and green space.
