Earlier this month, MPDC joined National NeighborWorks Association and 140 other organizations from across the country on Capitol Hill to fight proposed budget cuts to affordable housing programs in the federal budget. VP of Programs Brooke Woodson (pictured above with Senator Elizabeth Warren) participated in meeetings with Senators Warren and Markey and Rep. Capuano’s offices to discuss boosting support for porgrams such as Community Development Block Grants, HOME, Low Incoming Housing Tax Credits and funding for NeighborWorks America. The MA elected officials were very supportive of the housing programs and pledged to work with their colleagues to properly fund these critical initiatives.
