World renowned jazz trombonist and tubaist Bill Lowe’s 21st century adaptaion of Jean Toomer’s critically-acclaimed Harlem Renaissance masterpiece, CANE, will be presented as a drama with music, movement and video at Hibernian Hall June 23-25. Venay for an intimate conversation with Bill Lowe moderated by Nina LaNegra as he discusses Jean Toomer’s work depicting African-American life in the rural South in the early 20th century and its modern day relevance.
